Role of Senior Consultant

A Senior Consultant is responsible for managing portions of large client projects or small client projects. preparing client-ready materials (i.e. summary reports, press releases, credentials, proposals and can quickly review and improve the work product of Consultants. Senior Consultants maintain an awareness of macro business issues impacting clients by conducting and analyzing research on a variety of client related issues. The Senior Consultant is responsible for independently coordinating client meetings and events. Completes client deliverables under the supervisor of an Associate Director or assigned account manager. The Senior Consultant is expected to demonstrate an understanding of Agency's business practices and processes, as well as strong tactical and strategic abilities. Senior Consultants possess strong written and oral communication skills and the presence of a consultant. The Senior Consultant will interface with all levels of staff and will have contact with clients regarding project issues.

EDUCATION: University degree

EXPERIENCE: 8 – 10 years relevant exp in a consulting firm, corporation, diplomatic posting or media role pref Comma Consulting, Deepak Talwar and Associates, IPAN or in-house people with exp in telecom or healthcare

Local travel required; some international travel may be required

Job Profile:
The corporate communications position is responsible for getting the company's message to the desired audience. This may include crafting messages for an internal audience (employees) or an external one (customers or the public). Because the person filling this position in many ways is the "face" of the company, specific knowledge, skills and abilities are required in order to perform the job effectively.
Job duties change on a daily basis, depending on business needs. Work hours are dictated by the events of the day, and the corporate communications person has to be ready to provide a public response to whatever has occurred.

 Desired Profile -
A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or a closely related degree. A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or other business degree may also be acceptable. In some instances, a person with less experience and a master's degree may also be considered for hire.
Responsible for speaking for the company. Person is required to interact with a wide variety of people, from front-line workers to executives, officers and board members.
Ability to work well under pressure, build internal and external networks to facilitate message delivery, communicate effectively with all types of audiences, exhibit flexibility based on the immediate situation, and the courage to stand in the line of fire when the message is not a popular one
