The role of the Consumer PR team is to educate consumers on cyber crime, raise brand awareness and increase Nortons share of voice by conceptualizing and implementing creative media and end-consumer campaigns.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 7-9 years Public Relations experience - agency and in-house.
I- ndustry/product/customer segment knowledge or interest.
(more interested in customer segment experience with a desire to take on a tech challenge)
- Knowledge and experience across the marketing mix including experience with a few of the following: celebrity marketing, TV integration, sports marketing, cause marketing, web marketing, PR campaigns, product marketing, event marketing, social media programs.
- Collaborate cross functionally
- Should be able to scale up to support the Indian sub continent – Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal as and when needed
- Strong written and verbal communications skills – English, Hindi and preferably a regional language.
- Full command of public relations concepts as well as previous experience in the strategy and execution of PR activities.
- Media relations skills extend to full spectrum and media (including business, trade and broadcast). Social media experience will be added advantage,
- Strength in management of outside resources.
- Budget management skills and ability to work with multiple agencies.
- Strong ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- A self-starter with proven ability work with various levels of an organization.
- Has the ability to fully understand business issues and manage high impact and critical communications situations.
- Results-oriented, with ability to develop and manage measurement metrics.

Senior Marketing Communications Manager - Microsoft - Hyderabad

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for co-creating MSIT India's overall communications strategy. This includes defining MSIT India's narrative, value proposition and image agenda for both external & internal audiences. This role requires a senior communications leader with 10 plus years of communication experience, preferably, in both internal and external communications.
Internally, this manager has day-to-day responsibility for all communication to the organization. Responsibilities will include execution of marquee events for MSIT India (i.e. All Hands, Executive visits, Annual event, Annual Holiday party, etc.). This part of the role will require a strict attention to detail and strong event planning skills.
Externally, the manager will drive a multi-year strategy to communicate more effectively and consistently to external stakeholders (i.e. recruiting candidates, recruiting college campuses, and partners). This will involve using a balance of existing and new communication vehicles (e.g. social media). This part of the role will require excellent collaboration skills in order to achieve the business objective while balancing an internal and external perspective.
Internal Communications:
Partner with MSIT's global communications team in Redmond to deliver consistent employee experiences and messages across MSIT teams in India
Own the creation and maintenance of a 12-18 month rolling communications plan (in sync with MSIT Redmond plan)
Oversee internal communications activities across MSIT India (e.g. MSIT All Hands meetings, Giving Campaign, Annual holiday party)
Rally participation in activities and initiatives across Microsoft India
Partner with Microsoft India communications team and the on-campus internal communications from other Indian business units to
- drive a communications agenda against Microsoft India priorities

Partner with the MSIT India HR team to energize and motivate the employees
Oversee the communication budget for MSIT India
Executive Communications:
Maintain and update key messages through regular meetings with senior management team
Ensure that the communications strategy is clear and visible to all stakeholders and effectively highlight progress toward key goals or identify significant problems and risks
Manage the content and schedule for visiting executives to India
Partner with the Microsoft India comms team and the Enterprise Marketing group at SMSG to arrange 'meet and greet' sessions with Indian CIOs, organize CIO roundtables, organize CIO summits, tell the MSIT 'First & Best' stories, etc.
External Communications
Create/refine MSIT image agenda (or partner with existing teams that are doing this)
Work with the MSIT Marketing Communications team to ensure appropriate integration and alignment with the overall communication pillars
Act as a point-person for crisis management, engaging with MS Corp communications teams
Evangelize MSIT communications strategy and road map through multiple levels of management and ensure that the efforts are aligned to the overall communication strategy
Supervise marketing collateral production and keep message consistency across the marketing platform
Liaise with Microsoft PR in India & Redmond to ensure a consistent voice for Microsoft
Maintain publicity on a regular basis via media activities and annual events around key image pillars
Contribute to the storytelling around Microsoft India as the best employer and workplace
Partner with the Microsoft India communications team to contribute to domestic image agenda.
Leverage digital media for creative communications approaches
Partner with Corporate Affairs rep at LCA to liaise with industry bodies like FICCI, NASSCOM, ITsAP, etc. to build brand and build customer relationships
Work with the teams across MSIT to deliver great EBCs, ensuring they map to a broader customer engagement strategy and have the most compelling, up to date and on message content for delivery
