Communications Lead - IBM - Gurgaon

Designation: Communications Lead

Experience: 14-22 yrs

Location: Gurgaon

Job Description:


Functionally, the person is responsible for Internal Communications ( WFE) & External relations (Press & Analyst) on the Account. The role will involve day to day working with the Managing director of the Account.
The role reports into Head Brand & Communication, India / South Asia & collaborates actively with the India / South Asia and Middle East and Africa functional leads in Workforce Communications, External Relations, Brand Systems etc. for functional guidance.
Key Responsibilities of the role
• Develop a deep understanding of business strategy – both IBM’s and the account.
• Ability to build strong relationships and credibility with IBM Leadership team in the account, with C-level management at the account.
• Understanding of IBM’s strategies, how these relate to the Account and embed them into the Communications strategy.
• Ability to understand the dynamics, business objectives and pressures across the different IBM brands represented on the account.
• Act as fulcrum point bringing their strategies and messages together, and synthesising them into messaging for the whole account.
• Actively deconstructing silos by sharing information across the brands creating one Account view.
• Developing and managing an Internal & External Communications strategy;
• Ensuring execution of the agreed strategy;
• Providing strategic support and advice to Managing Director and be responsible for executive communications.
• Ensuring the Integrated Account communications strategy is integrated with the broader IBM India/SA strategy and not conflicting of any other BU strategy;
• Prioritising communications activities in support of
key Business Areas;
• Collaborating with Marketing, HR, etc., as appropriate, especially in regard to organisational culture and change;
• Give guidance to the Integrated account communication support in Africa & Bangladesh etc.
• Drive campaigns and themes, as per requirement, rather than stand alone announcements and ad hoc activities;
• Communicating into the client when strategically appropriate; maintaining close links with the client’s comms team.
• Moderator for all client reference requests for the Integrated account from IBM & Account side.

Employee Communications
• Working with the Integrated Account Leadership Team to identify, develop and manage effective communications strategies and plans for initiatives/issues that will impact employees;
• Extending IBM Values beyond awareness and into behaviour change;
• Ensuring employees have a clear understanding of IBM’s business strategy and Account’s strategy and drive teaming towards common goals;
• Ongoing evaluation, measurement and improvement.

Exec Communications:
• Providing Executive communication support to the Managing director for his employee & external communications
• Manage the Team/Qtrly update( All hands call) for the Managing director
• Manage Multi unit, Multi geography & enterprise wide communications
• Manage external communications ask ( Presentations in client facing events, Media, analysts etc).

External relations
Build mindshare by portraying IBM effectively with media and key influencers, and collaborate with other IBM organizations to effectively communicate IBM's value proposition. Build relationships with and influence analysts' opinions of IBM from the account perspective.
Define and advise guidelines for external and internal communications use to the account team.
