Job Description

The Consumer Insights Manager is expected to provide actionable consumer and marketplace insights to use in the development of annual plans. This position also supports the tracking and execution of key initiatives to drive the results of the current year.

About the Position:

There are two key facets of this role:

1) Work with all departments to ensure that individual plans are aligned to the organization’s strategic plans and goals.

2) Test key tactics to bring predictability into the next year plans of the organization.

1. PLANNING AND EXECUTION (30% of Time Spent)

- Work with HODs of all departments to detail the department plans and goals for the next calendar year.

- Consolidate the department plans and highlight conflicts if any.

- Work with finance to evaluate if the tactics will help to achieve the financial goals.

- Consolidate and align the plans and targets for the upcoming year.

- Incorporate the learning’s from trials and tests into the business plan for the next financial year.

- Work with the team to track the performance of the key initiatives of the current year and consult on changes if any required.

2. TRIALS AND PROJECTS ( 70% of time spent)

- Drives the Business Trials process in the organization.

- Responsible for developing standardized trial process.

- Analyzing information utilizing various statistical and trending techniques

- Compiling results in a concise, meaningful and actionable format

- Communicating results via written memos and in-person presentations

- Partners and communicates with key functional departments to manage the trial process and summarise the results.

SKILLS:

- Strong quantitative focus with experience in trend analysis, statistical techniques and general data analysis.

- Strong working knowledge of computer programs with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products and database access tools.

- Strong communication skills (written and oral) are necessary as this person will be writing reports and presenting findings to audiences comprising senior management.

- General familiarity with retail operations and new trends is a plus.

CUSTOMERS :

- Works closely with Business Insights team mates from Finance.

- Partners and communicates with key functional departments to understand research needs and communicate insights to stake holders.
