Designation: General Manager - PR & Media Relations

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 10-14 yrs

Job Description: 

The candidate is responsible for Suzlon’s External Strategic Communications. It's our job to communicate the benefits of Suzlon’s products, as well as our company's distinctive business ethos internally and to users, partners and opinion formers
 
Role & Responsibility
  • Developing and executing Suzlon’s corporate communications and public media strategy for India and International Markets. ( Europe, Asian, SEA)
  •  
  • Proven track record of developing effective corporate communication program/ campaigns & developing media relations across categories and markets.
  • Effortlessly effective written communications, highlighted by demonstrably clear and precise writing skills; thorough and persuasive verbal communications; simple but high-impact group presentation capabilities; and the ability to drive teams forward to reach challenging goals in concert.
  • Proficiency in preparing authentic content to support the company’s business collaterals in line with strategies and goals
  • Strong Entrepreneurial Skills, having been responsible for crafting and executing their own strategic & PR plans for effective image mgmt. Hence, candidates should be comfortable starting with a blank sheet of paper and showing creativity in taking action or accomplishing goals without large teams support (although considerable support resources will be built over time).
  • Understands and Appreciates Suzlon’s Goals and Culture -- Fully appreciates the company's vision and its core values; believes there are no obstacles, only challenges that can be overcome.
  • Interpersonal and Cross-Functional Management Skills -- Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with all levels of the company's staff as well as external constituencies. Strong cross-functional communications, influencing and networking skills, as well as the ability to collaborate across units and within the company.
  • Assist in crisis communications activities
  • Maintain working relationships with community / industry organizations and contacts and government agencies when necessary.
  • Ensure and plan for local participation in global communication literature – company brochure, leaflets, annual reports etc.
  • Manage external relationships - agencies, and photographers, conferences, exhibitions, corporate events etc
-          Writing, guiding and pitching news stories
-          Management of annual CC  budget and expenses, allocation of costs
-          Tracking and monitoring of media responses, media coverage and issues in traditional and social media outlets to keep track of the company’s brand and reputation
-          Work with senior leadership across functions and be the guiding light on PR and corporate communications

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education :
1)      Post – Graduate, MBA PG - Advertisisng/ PR
Experience :
1)      Minimum 10-14  Yrs .of experience either handling similar function in other organisations / senior level role in a PR agency handling financial portfolio of clients.
2)      Note – financial PR experience not essential but will be an advantage.
3)      Proficiency in building effective Media network at National & Regional level
4)      Ability to devise and deliver media & PR campaigns involving various stakeholders & ability to managing internal PR teams
