Manager Corporate Communications - Gurgaon

Job Title: Sr. manager/ Manager, Corporate Communications
Location: Gurgaon, India
Reporting to: Director, Marketing, Sapient India

Job Summary:
As part of the top‐notch Global Marketing team of Sapient, you are responsible for driving all aspects of
Sapient’s PR strategy and program, including company announcements, messaging, media/influencer
relations, thought leadership, social media, company awards, and other brand‐building programs. You
will help deepen the Sapient brand in the India marketplace, both from an employer brand and business
brand aspect. The goals are to raise brand awareness; increase our reputation for marketing, technical,
and creative excellence; furthere our thought leadership positioning; showcase our subject matter
experts and our work; and facilitate lead generation. A heavy focus will be on content generation:
building the news pipeline by working with internal constituents to craft compelling story angles and
pitch assets, and partnering with our PR agency to place the stories in key media outlets. This position
will report to the India Marketing Director, and be an extension of the global corporate marketing team,
ensuring that Sapient’s PR outreach is consistent and in line with overall marketing and business
direction.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Overall development and execution of Sapient’s PR strategy and supporting programs
• Write company announcements
• Build and cultivate strong relationships with key influencers, including press, bloggers, industry pundits
and other influencers. Main media targets include: marketing, creative, business, and technology press
• Manage India‐based PR agency
• Bring analysis of key industry trends and competitors to play a key role in the development of
company messages and brand positioning
• Manage India speaker program, including placement of subject matter experts and management in
key panel or presentation slots
• Drive placement of POVs, white papers, and bylined articles on key industry trends and issues
• Manage efforts around business and people recognition
• Educate BD and client executives on how to leverage PR successes
• Develop relationships with key professional industry associations
• Launch “influencers” outreach program
• Contribute India‐specific content to thought leadership initiatives, such as client newsletters and blogs
• Contribute India content to the corporate social media presence (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter,
Yammer, YouTube, Wikipedia)
• Develop and manage process for measuring PR effectiveness
• Develop and manage PR budget
• Engage with India management regularly to uncover news hooks and key projects and initiatives in the
pipeline
• Cultivate “spokes‐stars” in each region, including media training

Experience Guidelines:
• 8+ years experience in public relations/corporate communications, Good relationships with key editors
of leading national, business and financial dailies and business magazines
• Experience in marketing and/or interactive space required
• Established relationships with media and blogger communities
• Strength in communications, written and verbal
• Experience building integrated marketing communications campaigns
• Proven track record managing a PR agency and guiding them to success

Other Requirements:
• Ideal candidate will have a mix of PR agency and corporate‐side experience
• Highly creative and innovative thinker willing to take risks to build our brand
• Excellent writing skills, with experience drafting press releases, contributed articles, white papers and
media speaking points; ability to alternate between business writing and “creative flair”
• Savvy with social media and eagerness to experiment in new channels and platforms
• Eye for creativity and understanding of corporate branding
• Demonstrated ability to tie ROI and measurement into PR programs
• Ability to quickly build a network of strong media & blogger relationships
• Ability to provide strategic counsel to senior executives and quickly gain credibility
• Self‐starter who can work autonomously while collaborating with dispersed corporate marketing team
and subject matter experts, as required
• Poise and professionalism required for high‐level executive interactions

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
